Join Team "Charity Dude" Today!! Call 419-466-1346 People know that I am not your normal everyday philanthropist. As a matter of fact, not really your normal person in general. On Monday October 19th, I went to register myself on the bone marrow website. You can see it at www.Marrow.org I was almost 100 pounds overweight and that is after they give you 100 pounds, thus making me 200 pounds overweight. All of these years I have been telling people to do the right thing and when I finally go to do it myself, I am to fat. It happens. However, what a selfish excuse. Just imagine that I am that perfect match for someone out there and cannot give because I choose to not control my eating. How sad is that. Also recently a friend of my 11 year old daughter has been diagnosed with diabetes. Here is what bothers me. She is healthy, not a bit overweight, and has always been a sweet kid. Her mother is a great person and has never treated me with anything but respect. The reason I say that is because my appearance is not always welcoming and this woman has never judged. Her family has made my daughter feel welcome in everything they do. It is unfair that I get to push my health while her daughter has to suffer. I have now decided to create a team. My ultimate goal is to be able to complete 5K or a half marathon at the Glass City Marathon in April. The great thing is that during our training my team is going to raise money for some great charities. I currently am 5'11" and I weigh 390+ pounds. Over the next four months we are going to track via video our efforts to train our bodies for this Marathon. At the end of the Marathon I will personally register myself for the bone marrow testing at the finish line. I hope that when I succeed that I will be able to inspire others that may be obese or just out of shape to realize that being healthy has so many more benefits that our physical appearances.
